One of the most rewarding ways to obtain financial security and provide for your family is by starting and running your own business. A Simon administration is committed to reducing the cost and red tape associated with starting a business and will provide mentoring resources to women entrepreneur who are committed to starting and running their own business .We will work with our community colleges to create specific programs for women to advance their knowledge in the areas of finance, computer skills, marketing , media and advertising and human resource management. 

I want to remove barriers that prevent Nevadans from opening and running their own business so they can gain financial independence. Occupational licensing laws can prevent business formation by requiring an insurmountable cost to disadvantaged Nevadans to open certain businesses. I will streamline or eliminate certain requirements that are preventing business formation.

Every family faces a crisis at one time or another. Whether it is an illness, and injury, a loss of income, or abusive dysfunctional behavior. My administration will be committed to providing resources to families in crisis. Our goal is to keep families intact and safe and provide resources that can help the family heal and achieve stability. These programs will include counseling for drug and alcohol abuse, spousal abuse, adolescent counseling and youth programs, job placement assistance and training.

Fathers have a responsibility for their families and their children. If a court has ordered a man to provide child support, the State will do everything in its power to assure compliance with the court order.  

Homeschooling can be one of the most rewarding gifts that you can give to your child. Homeschooled children are smarter, more well adjusted, graduate high school and college well ahead of others, and go on to perform well in their careers. Homeschooled children have won the Scripps National Spelling Bee Competition five times in the last 20 years even though they are only 2.5% of the K-8 population. A Simon administration is committed to Parental Choice and vouchers up to $10,000 for K-12 education. If you homeschool your child, you keep the voucher money as your compensation for homeschooling.
